Downtown Magazine Distribution hand delivers magazines to 345 lofts and upscale condos in Downtown Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Diego, and the Bay Area. We specialize in helping magazine publishers reach this target market with dependable and professional distribution service. Our service also allows publishers to expand their reach into other cities in the U.S. that would enjoy their magazine. Why lofts and condos?

Living in a loft has become a way to live, work and play for many young, urban professionals. These loft dwellers are usually single or married with no children, and enjoy an average household income of $93,000 in Los Angeles, $127,000 in the Bay Area, and $80,000 in San Diego (source: Loopnet.com). The lofts they live in are warehouses and/or factories converted into living spaces that urban professionals pay a premium for.

These urban dwellers like to go out often and enjoy living in close proximity to other people and places where they can hang out? Plus many of them work in downtown LA, downtown San Diego or downtown San Francisco so there is not much of a commute.

What does Downtown Magazine Distribution do?

In Southern California, we hand deliver magazines to 55 lofts in downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach and 56 lofts in San Diego Ballpark East district. In the Bay Area, we hand deliver magazines to 110 lofts in San Francisco's South Beach district and 70 lofts in Oakland and Emeryville's Downtown districts. These drop offs are in the loft's lounge, mail room, or main entrance where the tenants pass by each day. We prefer to put less copies (25-50) in more locations, and track how fast people pick the magazine up. That way, we can add more or less copies, or a display rack, that will insure all copies are picked up each time.

We also offer full service distribution solutions, including warehousing at our 8,000 square foot facility in Downtown Los Angeles, display racks, and shipping/freight forwarding.

Does Downtown Magazine Distribution distribute in addition to lofts?

Yes. In Downtown Los Angeles, for example, we distribute to more than 250 locations throughout the downtown area. This includes condos, office buildings, "lunch crowd" hangouts, and popular restaurants. Does Downtown Magazine Distribution distribute to lofts in other cities?

Starting in June 2008, Downtown Magazine Distribution will add Phoenix (56 lofts), Miami (60 lofts), Atlanta (66 lofts), Washington DC (150 lofts), Philadelphia (35 lofts), and Chicago (85 lofts).

Pricing

Southern California: $100 cost per thousand up to 40 pages or 4 ounces. $125 cost per thousand up to 96 pages or 12 ounces. $150 cost per thousand up to 200 pages. Over 200 pages call for a quote (any freight or shipping to Southern California not included). Minimum of 5,000 copies.

Northern California: $125 cost per thousand up to 40 pages or 4 ounces. $150 cost per thousand up to 96 pages or 12 ounces. $175 cost per thousand up to 200 pages. Over 200 pages call for a quote (any freight or shipping to Northern California not included. Minimum 7,500 copies.
